Dear Redneckgurl,

Yes he likes you, and he doesn't have a lot of experience with this. He's probably afraid his friends will tease him if he likes a girl. He's probably also afraid that you won't go out with him if he asks. You're afraid he might just be fooling you.

As long as he's not trying to win a bet with his friends by "nailing" you, he will keep showing a little interest. If it lasts longer than 6 months, it's probably real. Guys usually won't wait that long for a bet.

In the mean time, try making "friends". Make sure he knows that you like him in as least SOME way, but that you are not ready for a really serious relationship. You could say something like this, "I really like guys who ____________*." *Insert something about him that you like and make sure that he can't miss knowing you're talking about him. For example: "I really like guys who make me laugh, he he, ha ha, tee hee, giggle, giggle..." Make DIRECT EYE CONTACT with him and flutter your eyelashes a bit when you do it. If you're not comfortable with doing this, practice in front of a mirror when you're alone until you think you are practiced enough. Don't rush. That spoils all the fun of starting a relationship. The most fun part is the flirting while you start getting to know each other.

Good Luck : )

he likes you...he just can't say it for fear of rejection...this is common in young adults. He is flirting with you and wants your attention but he is afraid to actually ask you to go out because he's afraid you will say no.

Instead call him...and ask him if he would want to go on a date with you...and he'll probably clam up big time..but tell him if he wants to then you will be happy to go out with him.

This isn't a new concept...it's been going on for many years...men and women for that part..have the fear of rejection....if you like him...go for it..if you don't...then tell him that also

He is acting like a dork though he is interested.- He is not ready for a relationship. Do you really, really want someone acting this way around you ALL THE TIME?
