My kids ran magnets over the computer monitor, and now the color is all messed up. Is there any way to fix this, or do I have to buy a new monitor?

Check the monitor settings, the controls on the monitor, not the computer software, and press degauss.

tMy kid did the same thing...lucky I knew what to do. You can go to Radio Shack and buy a degaussing tool. Or you Just use a magnet about 2 to 3 inches long or round, Place it close to the screen in the middle and star moving in circles making the circles bigger a little each time then slowing while making the last bigger circles pull away a bit at a time. You may do this more then once. Your monitor is fine. You can also turn the monitor on and off a few times TVs and Monitors have a built in degaussing ring around the tube But the magnet will be the fastest.

Most monitors have degaussing coils, built into them, shutting the monitor off then turning it back on should fix the problem, if not then you have a bigger problem. You could also buy an LCD monitor, they don't have that problem.

Degaussing it through the monitor settings is the simplest solution. If not try switching it on & off 2-3 times till it resolves. If not working get a degaussing ring & remove the color. Please see to it that you do not have any powerful speakers beside your monitor.
