For about a month now after I practice kicking field goals my knee hurts. Its sometimes so bad that I can't kick with my full force when I am practicing. I have tried stretching and laying off it, but it won't seem to go away. The pain seems to be located on my right leg just to the left of the kneecap. I'm not quite sure, but it feels like a blood vessel or something is there. The pain seems to be fiercest when my knee locks, such as immidiately after my kick on the follow through. If anyone can tell me whats wrong and how to deal with it I'd be very happy.

Also this has been going on for a month and does not cause me to stop my everyday life. I would just like to know if I should stop kicking field goals to lower risk of injury, because I would like to be at full strength when kicking them.

What treatments should I use and how long should I rest it? By playing on it for a month, have I injured it beyond repair (at least athlete standards)?

I had this same thing happen with softball. What happens (and understand that I have not diagnosed your knee) is that joints and ligaments get strained, especially with hard and jolting movements done over and over. Sometimes it takes months to heal unfortunately. What happens is that when the joints and or ligaments get strained, your body automatically releases a fluid to protect it (I forgot the scientific name of this fluid) and that can actually cause some scar tissue to form. Then the scar tissue begins to rub against nerves which causes the pain. Not to mention the swelling of the ligaments and tissue can cause the pain by pressing against nerves. Ideally, stop doing this (which is probably out of the question for you cause it's something you love) or understand that some bodies, such as yours can be more susceptible to repetitive movements like what you're doing.
