i went away just overnight and i came home and my male guppys tail is all shreded. Its not fin rot I can tell. He is in with 2 females and it seems like that attacked him but they have been together for a while what could have happened? Also the females looked a bit wierd. Instead of the blue they normally have around their stomachs it was black then their skin looked like it had ich on it. I fed htem and an hour later they looked normal again. So I just bought a breeders net and put the male in there for now and treated the tank with that aquarium salt(not sea salt) that is acually ment for curing fish diesises and reducing stress. Is there anything else I should do or did I do everything right?

will i be able to realese him back or should i just keep him in a temporary bowl or small tank for a month until i can buy a new tank because my female guppy is pregnant and i am going to seperate the males and females so they dont end up breeding and having demented babies so the male would just be in with other males

You probably did all you could, theres not much you can do once the tail is shredded but he should be okay.

Malafix is a good remedy for fish with injuries. The female guppies may have gone for his tail.

I'm thinking you did everything right.. i have a few dalmation mollies and they kept attacking my red and white lionheads..we found out it was because the lionheads were eating the mollies' babies. So, maybe that's why they attacked him.
