dont listen to the chuckleheads telling you not to wash the paint because it needs time to cure. that only applies for waxing it.

you can ask yours, but most bodyshops today use an oven to bake the paint after its spray, that speeds the process up as far as curing.

also the paint is usually cut and buffed the next day, so how do you think they get rid of the dust and compound? they wash it.

just because you own a repair shop and have 36 years experience, doesnt always equate that you know what you are talking about.

but to answer your question, only use a soap that is made for automobile finishes, Blue Coral, Turtle Wax, etc. there isnt going to be much difference brand to brand for soap.

first off you don't need to wash it for a while ,especially with soap, give it some tine to cure before you wash it,if you don't it may cause problems with the paint ,and then your out a paint job,im assuming the shop that painted it told you not to wash it with soap for a while,at least they should have,,anyway ,good luck,i hope this help,s.

like dodge man said not right away , the paint has to cure for a few weeks , longer in cold weather, i know , not what you want to hear , once you have completed that torturous wait use mothers if you can find it or turtle wax, not dish washing soap( where have we heard that before?)

Baby shampoo it will not hurt the clear coat as it doesn't have any harsh chemicals in it. Think of it this way if it can't hurt a baby and still get them clean , it can't hurt your car. it dose work very well.

I can tell ya what not to use, dishwashing liquid>it strips the wax off and harms the finish. Go to an auto parts store and buy one that says 'WILL NOT HARM WAX"
