Last night I had a weird dream about catching mice. One of them was all white and the other was white with tan spots (the same as my dog, if that matters). Just curious!

depends on the context the mice appeared to you in the dream. What was happening, what were the mice doing, what is your emotional response to the mice, how many mice are there--a few or were you over-run with them?

Dream dictionaries are interesting, but I find that most people have their own personal symbologies that may not mean the same thing as what a book says it means. If you don't like rodents, then the mice may be repulsive to you and represent something unpleasant. If you had pet mice as a child, you may like the mice and they may represent something pleasant.

also look at what's happening in your life now, the mice may represent a problem or task you are working on and depending on wheather or not you caught the mice easily or at all may represent how close you are to solving your problem.

yes, it matters that one of the mice was patterned like your dog. Again, if the issue doesn't involve your dog, then what about your dog (quality or your feelings about your dog) is relavent to the issue your dream is dealing with?

According to my dream book Mouse/Mice "is an eminently sexual symbol, generally connoting pubic hair, but specifically male when imagined slipping in and out of its hole. A mouse caught in a trap can be an image of castration. Pounced on by a cat, the mouse may be seen as tentative steps towards self-awareness falling victim to our baser instincts."

However rarely has the book solved any dream questions for me. I think I need a new book.
