fold the shirt in half. draw (with pencil) a half of a heart (with the points in the fold). gather the shirt only where you drew the heart shape and tie a rubber band around it very tight making sure that you ahve both sides of the shirt. put your dye all around the rubber band.

my directions weren't the best so i found some on the web for you with photos...

2 pieces of this wood cut into the shape of a heart and clamps, the kind that screw to tighten. make sure the clamps leave space between the "c-ring" part and the actual part thats clamping the wood. (so it doesnt interfere with the pattern)
when you lay the pieces of wood on either side of the fabric clamp around the outsides, probably several times. i dont know because ive always threaded it unless its kinda small hearts,, or ive done small stars too, but those only take one clamp.
you could also try a commercial resist and paint the shape before dying. or wax for a batik effect

i don't be attentive to that lots approximately steel even though it style of sounds like an somewhat stable record. i'm happy to make certain that under no circumstances Say Die! is severe up there as i think of it is underrated. MQ2: a million. quantity 4 - Black Sabbath 2. experience The Lightning - Metallica 3. grasp Of Puppets - Metallica 4. Rust In Peace - Megadeth 5. form of The Beast - Iron Maiden 6. Sabotage - Black Sabbath 7. The Downward Spiral - 9 Inch Nails 8. Troublegum - medical care? 9. Rage against The device - Rage against The device 10. Reign In Blood - Slayer MQ3: i've got been intending to make the same record on RYM too yet i will under no circumstances choose for on the order, it merely retains changing. besides, there is lots of albums on your record that i've got no longer listened to yet yet i admire the final public of the single's that I surely have heard. standard, i could say it is a brilliant record.

Try looking under batik techniques. Batik uses melted wax to make designs before something is tie-dyed. If you use cold dye, you could try something like gum arabic, which rubs right off (but test it on a sample piece of fabric, first!). I've also heard of people using masking tape, but I don't know how that works.

Good luck!
