I bet that's what you say to your girlfriend, "You're looking mighty tasty." If she's your pet, than it's ok to eat her.

Are you sure you know what you got? A cow or a steer?
IF you have a cow? NO, don't eat it. She can be useful for reproducing a Steer. Now if you really have Steer, sure eat it! Nice that you are good to it. Hope you are feeding him properly. Fatten him up a bit just before the kill so the meat has nice marble. There is a book you can get at Barns and Noble on this if you don't know what to do. Should be tasty as you say. Price of meat is high enough. I don't know how old it is, wait til it is 1,000 lbs at least. 2 yrs. Kill it, let it hang in a freezer for 2 or 3 weeks and have all the less tender meat ground into hamburger.

People do it all the time. I personally could never do it, but most people I know do.

I have raised a calf from a week old on the bottle. She is now 1 1/2 years old. People think I'm crazy because I have no plans to butcher her. People tell me there is no such thing as a pet cow. Well I'm sorry in my eyes there is. I will never butcher my little Annie. I don't know how people can raise animals from birth, name them and then butcher them and eat them.

My dad used to raise rabbits. They were my pets, when he killed them, I wouldn't begin to eat them.

My cousin raised a pig in FFA. He sold her to my grandmother and myself. I made the mistake of going to see her before she was butchered. I remember my Grandma saying, she's a pretty little thing. After we got the meat, everytime I thought about Grandma saying that and seeing the pig, I couldn't eat the meat.

I once even ordered lobster in Maine. They picked one out and put it on the table and said is this one ok? I said I guess. That was the worst tasting lobster I've ever had.

From now on, I never want to meet the meat that I am eating. I could never eat the cow that I consider a pet. I don't know how people do it, but I know that they do all the time.

if you feel alright when you eat it, then go ahead. If you feel it's ok to kill it and no regretts when you see it's head being chopped off or something like that go ahead. If you have no regretts when he's sizzling in your frying pan or charcoling on your barbecue go ahead.
He's your pet and you should understand that he has feelings too... please refrain from it. He'll be a sad cow if he knows what you are thinking...

Aw, come on Clint, you've punched a lot of cows in your time you should know that answer. Just hire somebody to butcher that old burger boy. Just pretend you bought the meat from the grocery store when you eat it. A full belly of that pet and you can sleep like Rip Van Winkle.....................................................................
