My computer's speakers were working fine, until my daughter plugged the headphones in...now the only way to hear anything is to listen through the headphones. There is no sound coming out of the speaker, when the headphones are unplugged. I've went through all the trouble shooting stuff, and the speakers still won't make a noise. Could someone tell me something else I could try?

I've checked all the wires, everything is plugged in. My speakers are mounted on the bottom of my flat screen monitor. There is 2 jacks for headphones if that means anything.
And to the guy, who said just throw my computer away...you must be ignorant, I'm not just going to throw a computer away because the speakers aren't working. Are you related to Donald or Bill, you have to be rich if you even think thats a possible answer.

seems that when the head phones were pluged in, the interior of the jack plug was comprimised.those plugs do go bad inside.
the fact that you can get sound with them pluged in, tells you that yourPC sound is working. to avoid a lot of money in repairs, try this

your computer has sterio sound.get a small sterio amp, put it next to the computer, connect your speakers to the amps out put, and connect your pc sound jack to the amps in put.
the plug is probably a miniture sterio style on your pc

There should be a plug from the speakers that plugs into where the headphones were plugged into.
