And when I get a cast & crutches I'm going to be a little less...mobile. I can't sit still and I think I'll a very hard time carry my book bag switching classes every 52 minutes, crowded halls, lunch trays, bus rides, stumbling, ect. Any suggestions, on how to make this upcoming month easier?

My mom had surgery on her ankle when she fell and broke it. I took care of her for 2 months. A support system is the key. Have you someone to call? Especially at school - someone who is in the same classes to help you? Tell your techers you can't move as fast as everyone else and you may be late for the start of class. Don't get stressed! Being calm will help you heal. :)

I know exactly what you are going through!:) I had to have minor surgery on my left ankle and was on crutches for a long time and I had severe pain. In your case, I suggest you make future preparations with your school, in particularly your school counselor. Talk to them about your concerns or questions you might have. If your school has an elevator, than the school is required to give you permission to use it. Make sure they let you out 5 minutes before class ends so you can come on time to class. Crowded halls is not a big deal, people would empathize with you and your situation, and would usually stay out of your way so you can walk. As for your backpack and lunch trays, make sure you have a kind friend that can help you get lunch and help you with further assistance. Ask someone to be able to help you get on the bus if it is really hard for you to climb in. All these things you should take into consideration. You probably would get a few stares, but remember that something like this might happen to them as well and you are lucky to have friends that care for you. Dont listen to what others say(i had to deal with a lot of nasty words and stares) and keep your head up. It can be hard but with preparation, everything would get better. Just concentrate on school and getting better. Best of wishes. Email me if you need anything!

Good luck!

Well as for your book bag, get a rolling kind you carry with your hand. As for the others, well it's just minor adjustments that may seem big at this time, but will get easier once you are experiencing it. If you'll be taking a narcotic pain medication it will make you tired and unable to cleary concentrate on your studies.
