It appears to me that through fault of our legal system mooches that want to screw over hard working people that were trying to help them are protected. My roommate (who has no substantial financial investment thus far) recently punched a whole in a wall. I am looking at loosing my deposit because this clown was a destructive pig. Can I legally kick him to the curb or am I correct in assuming I have to take it up the *ss on this one or go to jail?
Does anyone one know how to fix a drywall wall? Bonus points go to the person who can tell me how to fix all the scratches on my kitchen counters.

There is no fault in the legal system - the fault is in poorly written contracts.
What is your roommate responsible for? For what reasons can you kick him out - based on the contract - remember, not written not said - does he pay rent to you or to the owner of the unit?
For the drywall repair, Home Depot sells a really nice "patch kit that is a mesh, and then you put the drywall compound over it - if you take the Mr. Clean wall cleaner (the blue and white sponge thing, and wash another part of your wall, and then squeeze that paint into your drywall compound, the color will match, too.
For kitchen counters, if the scrates aren't too deep, you can sand them with a find sandpaper and then put a matte sealer back on the formica.
Of course, you could file a police report and ask for a personal protection order from this guy, saying that the hole in the wall was him trying to hit you - it's exploitation, but may work.

According to a landlord I know, they are required by law to have a sheriff serve the eviction papers. And if they aren't out by that date, the sheriff will physically remove them from the property.
As for patching dry wall, head to your hardware store for the supplies. Those scratches MIGHT be fixable... but I would need to know what type of material your kitchen counter is made of. Just check with the experts at Home Depot or Lowes.

OK I'm a landlord , if you signed the lease,and its in you name ,not his, you must pay the damages for the dry wall , if he been a clown ,bring him down to earth will a nice bill,for the dry wall, he may laugh or get on out ,, if its a small hole ,cut ashape about 6ins place it over the hole and mark it , then cut out the mark area,with a craft knife place the piece back in to the hole ,with some support, dry wall mud twice ,bingo no more hole ,in fact get him to do it ,Mr clown, the scratches oh well try ,old English , this stuff will make them seem less scratched,and more likey cover most of them ,come in dark or light ,try walmart , in the cleaning section

yeah you'll be grabbing you ankles on this one unless you can clean it up which is not as impossible as it sounds. get some Spackle (ask for it at a hardware store, they will help you) use some one the hole, if it is a good size hole and from a punch I'm betting it is you may need to fill it in them go over it again to smooth it out. as far as the counters i need more information, leave it here and i'll try to get back to you. other then that make the roommate pay for it all!!!

First, sorry about your room mate. As far as patching the wall, go to your builders store and get some Spackle. If the hole is very large, they have a sticky-backed grid mesh to put on first. When you apply the Spackle over the mesh, smooth it on and let it dry. Then sand, base coat and paint. It sound far more complicated than it is. Best wishes.

can't tell you how to fix wall;but will tell you how to fix roommate,you can sue him in civil court for damages to apartment and in housing court to make him pay up and move out good luck
