Yes if they're desperate.
Usually they like to stay with their animal host and are mainly zootic, hence rat fleas usually stay with rats but if the rat population suddenly decreases then the fleas will go for a human host.

That's how the bubonic plague got started in London, rat fleas bite humans and bingo epidemic.

yes they do- they can live on our pets, in our carpets and on our furniture. if they are in your home all these places will have to be treated. they can become so numerous bites to humans becomes a daily problem-- professional services may be needed to help erradicate them. the bites bother some people more than others sometimes the little red itchy spot is just a nusiance but some people are allergic. some people scratch until a sore developes, especially children these sores are an open invitation to infection. you may need to seek medical attention if sores do not go away or worsen. there are many over the counter meds available to treat bites.

The fleas however very rarely hang around on a human for log.

Fleas have certain species that they prefer but they will accept any host that has blood. For instance, my mother moved in with me and brought her dog with her. The fleas started biting me, my husband, and our cats. However, when the dog left the fleas left because they preferred the dog to any other blood source.

Fleas bite humans if they land on them, but they will not stay on human bodies or lay eggs, or 'infest' human hair like they do dogs and cats. They just bite, and then hop off and go away.
