Not really a mystery, but try Monster by jonathon kellerman...it's very suspenseful and a good read.

Okay, you don't like that one? Here is a very fun to read, and classical LOVE mystery>> Tom Jones by Henry Fielding

It is about 250 years old, and 1100 pages long....and I would bet ALOT of money that you will like reading it very much.

a great mystery that is also very funny are the Janet Evanovich books. She has a series called the Stephanie Plum series. Stephanie is a sort-of off the wall Bounty Hunter. You can find them in the mystery section of the book store or library. The first one is called "One for the Money" and they go up to "12 Sharp" she is putting out the 13th book in the summer. they are great reads though and she has a terrific web site. She has other mystery series as well. I have read all her novels and they are better and better as they go. Have fun reading.

Tenderwire by Claire Kilroy.

It's about a young Irish violin soloist in NY. Very suspenseful. Well-written, not full of cliches as most pop fiction in that genre is. You will be sucked into a great story!

I've included the Amazon link, but don't read too much of the reviews. As with any suspense story, the less you know of it the better. Enjoy!

James Patterson writes some pretty good mysteries. I just started reading a couple of them and have found them to be pretty interesting and kept me into the plotlines. Highly suggest his Women's Murder Club series (1st to Die, 2nd Chance, and 3rd Degree, 4th of July) which are some of his better books.

You can also check out this site for some of the more recently most honoured books in various genres. It also has reader ratings and reviews that you can look at too. http://www.awardannals.com/

The link to the most honoured mystery books list is:

Good luck on you're search!

Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett; any of the "Burglar Who.." books by Larence Block; any of the Spenser books by Robert B. Parker; and maybe The Name of the Rose, by Umberto Eco.

Atlas Shrugged is the best book I've ever read and it does have a mystery in it.
