(x+2)(x-5)=(x-1)(x-3)

I just keep forgetting how to do it. The answer in the book says that it's 13. But I keep getting a complete different answer.

(x+2)(x-5)=(x-1)(x-3)
x^2-3x-10=x^2-4x+3
-3x-10=-4x+3 [x^2's cancel]
+3x +3x
-10=-x+3
-3 -3
-13=-x
x=13

x^2 - 5x +2x - 10 =x^2 -3x -x + 3
x^2 - 3x -10 = x^2 - 4x +3
x^2 -x^2 -3x +4x = 3 +10
x =13

(x+2)(x-5)=(x-1)(x-3)
x^2-5x+2x-10=x^2-3x-x+3
x^2-x^2-5x+2x-10=x^2-x^2-3x-x+3
-5x+2x-10=-3x-x+3
-3x-10=-4x+3
-3x+4x-10=-4x+4x+3
x-10=3
x-10+10=3+10
x=13
Cheers!
