There is no proof. I can prove gravity, and I can prove the sky is blue, and I can prove that the earth rotates around the sun and the moon rotates around the earth. I can prove that there are people in this world who do things without expecting any person gain. I cannot prove, however, that God exsists. I can however, ACCEPT that I do not hold this knowledge and instead hold, inside myself, a faith that there is something greater than myself- greater than my life, and find peace in that, even if it that faith is unfounded and God and and afterlife does not exsist.

There is no proof.

People have argued both sides of this question for centuries.

Even scriptures agree it is a matter of faith.

Typical proofs for the existence of god?

Things are designed so well, some devine intervention had to be involved.

Flaw: How do you know your assumption is true. Also how do you know this being if he exists is only one and how do you know that he is the one that all those wars were fought over. How do you even know he is "supernatural".

Typical proof for the non-existance of god?
I can explain most things scientifically. Why do I need a god? Also, if God exists, who created God. Certainly this God is not the simplest explanation for things so why should I accept it or him

Flaw: Just because something is not the most simple explanation does not make it false. The idea that matter existed forever or worse still it came into being by a huge bang is just as fantastic as the idea that a supernatural being has always existed. We can just user our minds and guess what we think is correct, we cannot really prove it. We cannot even prove that other people exist.

There is not one scintella of evidence that there is a god. Neuroscientists can artificially trigger the 'religious' experience in humans by focusing on the limbic system of our brains. This is where our raw emotions spring forth, especially during times of extreme stress, near starvation, deep depression, or other high emotional states. Some budhist monks can meditate and get to this state of consciousness.

The cerebral cortex is a more recent development, here springs forth our logic and rational thinking. Regarding the statement above that the NON-EXISTENCE of god cannot be proven,..a negative can never logicallyt be proven, no matter what the subject, let alone discussions about a supernatural sentient entity.

I once did not believe in God.

My first prayer to God was this: " God if you are out there, I don't know what to believe, if you are truly real please reveal yourself to me and help me to believe".

I heard no voice, thunder didn't flash, and there were no miraculous signs from above. However, over the next few weeks my heart began to change and I became a new person who believed and knew and could sense the presence of God in my life.

That was over 30 years ago and I have no reason yet to doubt in God. I would say to anyone, if you will only pray a simple little heartfelt sincere prayer and ask God to reveal Himself to you, there is no doubt He will! That will be proof enough to anyone who seeks God.

Theres no way to prove or disprove the existence of god until you die and find out. I believe in god because i'd like to think we are hear for a reason and not just an accident but w/e i really don't care if anyone agrees or disagrees with me.

Personally I don't believe god exists, and I find it foolish to believe otherwise. To take the word of an extremely old and poorly translated book as fact seems retarded to me. I have yet so see any proof that "GOD" exists. If you feel the need to blindly follow a religion in order to be a good person, you're a fool. (not referring to you "father of 4 husband of 1" personally, just people in general)

and now, bring on the insults....

yes God exists before you or anyone was born & will be forever.

Yourself is the proof of the existance of God.

You have given your question in Astronomy & Space so let me tell you in that manner.

Just tell
1.what is the thing which resists you entering into space?
2.what is the thing which has kept the earth in motion?

You would definately answer

1. 7 layers
2. centripetal force

but you should think who has put the layers in your way
and who gave velocity to the earth...

there are manymore things which i can make you count . it was just a beginning my dear ...

Scientifically there is no way to prove or disprove the existence of God that is why there is faith. But that is a theological topic and not really a scientific one. So it is really upto each of us to decide for our selves if God exists.

Yes. My proof is the positive influences in my life that exist through my faith and belief in God. You raise a very good question. And the best analogy I can give you is: Does love exist? Can you see it? hear it? touch it? or smell it? or taste? I don't think you can. But, nobody doubts that love exists. I can't put 2 liters of love in a beaker and hand it to you and say here's your love. I can't prove it scientifically. I can show you the result of love but I cannot show you the stuff in the material world... it's impossible.

He may or may not. And there is no proof--non physcial at least-- which is my reason (and probably other people's) for not beleving in Him. And that's another thing, why does "god" have to be a Him?! I don't believe in Her.

There's no proof.
