The only thing I can think of is the earthquake in Hawaii tore up the set and they have to rebuild some of it. Does anybody know if that's true or what exactly the reason is? It was only on like a friggin' month...urrgghhhh!!!

Season 3 is going to continue on February 7 because viewers complained that they were getting too "lost" last season with all the reruns in between the new shows during Season 2. Therefore, ABC will be broadcasting all the rest of the shows without any breaks starting Feb. 7th.

The third season is not over-- it is just being done in two parts. The cliff hanger is to build suspense for the second half of the season starting in February. When it starts up again in Feb it will be for another 17 episodes. The behind the scenes reason is that one of the writers died in the middle of writing the season and they had to take time off to deal with that and to replace him. At least thats what I heard from my best friend-- who is a total tv addict.

It's because they haven't even filmed the rest of Season 3 yet. They only started filming the first 6 episodes in August, so they still have a lot of work to do! HTH : )

omg i was so mad, but the only reason they did that is so they can ran the show jailbreak during lost's airing time. and they are going to put like scenes from up coming episodes on jailbreak commercials to force lost lovers to watch. but when lost does come back in feb. there will be no repeats in episodes so we don't have to wait anymore, plus it costs a lot of money to run repeats and no one really watches them

what I read on the ABC Lost website, is that the viewers were tired of reruns when the show takes a hiatus, so instead, they opt for this break with no reruns....When the show returns, it will show 13 more episodes uninterrupted....Ps the website is great if your like me and want to watch the show again..Plus spoilers and lots of info....Love the show!!!!

I was upset it went off so early as well! Maybe they want to keep their viewers on the edge of their seats!
