It's not when you starve yourself then more then likely you gain back double. Weight loss needs to be done in a healthy manner, that usually takes months.

Everyone's different. Give her a break, she does have a lot of hormonal stuff going on. Being a new mom is hard, and it does affect your self-image and even your marriage. If this is something she feels she can control, let her be. She does know her own body better than you do, so if she says her body is healther and "normal" thinner, who are you to tell her otherwise? I wouldn't worry unless she continues to lose weight. But if she's found the weight she's happy at, and the weight that allows her to feel good about herself as a woman and mother, let her be.
Personally, I lost more than 45 pounds in just a few months, and I promise you, I was not starving myself. I just got into the habit of eating healthier when I was pregnant and the weight just melted off. If her body is used to being small, and this is because she usually eats smaller amounts, it's probably not as drastic a thing as you might think it is. Her metabolism and body are just used to being skinny.
It's good that you have expressed your concern, and that she has someone keeping an eye on her. But since it's done, just continue to watch her, and let her re-settle into things. You never know, after another year of motherhood, you might see her gradually put the weight back on. The more you talk about it, the more you are encouraging her to think it's a big deal.

Right there with you. I've not too long ago decided that it is time to alternate the way I feel about myself, commencing with losing a few pounds. It takes time, and if you wish to see results fast you almost always have got to make drastic alterations, which is not constantly healthful. One thing is - you have got to burn extra energy than you soak up if you wish to reduce weight. You could try some cardio as well, that's relatively potent the entire approach round. Seems like you're on the right monitor though, realizing that you just need to consume healthy and DRINK WATER! The major thing! Excellent job and just right good fortune! Don't quit it is going to show eventually. Preserve working rough.

No, this isn't healthy for her, nor is it healthy for her baby if she happens to be breastfeeding. A new mother should expect to have a few extra pounds for a while. Not eating can cause serious consequences on one's health.

Its very unhealthy, not only for her, but for the baby, if she doesnt provide her body with nutrients, she is essence starving her child. I would talk to a doctor, this sounds very serious.

She is very unhealthy. Starving yourself does lose weight faster, but it's not the right way to lose weight.

Nope. You need to eat a balanced diet while breastfeeding. This includes eating enough to maintain your milk supply.
