The "frame" that you are talking about is called a Radiator Core Support. If you have a U pick it junk yard find your model of car and pull the core support. It should cost you around 50 dollars. While you are at it get the radiator if available and any body pieces you need. Then install.

If the damage was just superficial, you could just remove and replace the offending panels.
But if you say the frame is into the radiator, it sounds like too much damage to repair on your own.

Try your local high schools....most have auto-body/automotive repair shop classes and they may do it where you live...it won't be fixed as fast though..so you need another form of transportation till it's fixed
i know they did it when i lived in N.Y.........it's worth a shot

or you could try a automotive school......you know a trade school teaching people to do repairs

you buy the parts ....they make the repairs much cheaper than a regular repair shop

There is no inexpensive way to fix it. Even if you had collision coverage, which I suspect you don't, you would have to pay the deductible which in your case would be the $500 amount. So the moral of the story is if you can't afford full coverage insurance drive very carefully.
