Get good quality shoes with good shock absorption capabilities. And don't wear old shoes - they can cause more problems for your feet. You can also try gel insoles, which can be helpful. If it gets worse, speak with your doctor. You could develop plantar fasciitis (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plantar_fascitis), which can be painful and take months or even years to recover from.

Shoes can make alot of difference. I have found actually sometimes shoes either too soft like some running shoes or too hard like leather dress shoes are both hard on the feet for different reasons.
There are also a variety of insoles that can be inserted in the shoes along the too hard line of thought.
If it is just the increase in use, your feet might get used to it.
If the discomfort is from something on the surface these can be treated pretty easily by a podiatrist.
Good Luck!
;-)
P.S. - Best walking shoes I ever recieved - still wearing over 10 years later - Redwing shoes. The soles are very good. Also, Vibram soles on shoes are another good hard rubber sole that does surprisingly well.

The Dr. Scholl's shoes are the best. I work in a mailroom and have been a messenger for a bank for a few years. I go through shoes like a mailman. Unfortunately I have to go with a dress like shoe, which is not the most ergonomic of footwear. Dr. Scholl's combines function and appearance.

Go to a Foot Locker, Finish Line, etc. and ask them for inserts for your shoes. Tell them what you are doing and where your feet hurt, they have really great inserts for all sorts of activities. They are a bit more than a pair of Dr. Scholls, but they are well worth it.

I worked on my feet for 16 hour days sometimes on hard floors...the airport to be exact.....my advice...keep walking, standing will make it much worse....and invest in good quality shoes..if you can get away with it tennis shoes or similar soles are the best for your feet..no high style shoes that restrict your motion.....and you will get more used to it over time.
