Although I haven't seen the movie, I think it sounds like a horrible movie. I would never, ever see it. I was going to a birthday party to see it with my friends at the party until I realized how horrible the movie sounds! I am Jewish and I looked up this movie online, and it is SO ANTI-SEMETIC, and I find that discusting!! And people call this the COMEDY OF THE YEAR?! Why would anyone want to see this? I know that everyone is going to be talking about this movie in school, and everyone will say it's the funniest movie of the year, but I refuse to see Borat. I think it is a horrible movie. What do you think about it?

I know it's just jokes and it's just a movie but I'm telling you if it was anything about black people or asian people or whatever ethnicity you are, you would be very offended, and that's how I feel. He should be sued!!!

How can you claim that a movie you've never seen is horrible when you haven't even SEEN it! It's like saying gooseberry pie is horrible when you've never even tasted it! I went into the theater with an open mind and when I saw this movie, I thought it was straight up hilarious! It is one of the funniest movies I think I've ever enjoyed seeing! It is so NON-politically correct and refreshingly unique that I can't remember the last time that I laughed so hard! You can tell that some parts of the movie were filmed on the fly, at the spur of the moment and that other parts were methodically filmed. You can also tell that some of the people in the film were unaware that they were being recorded to be in this film. He pokes fun at LOTS of different people's prejudices, Jews, Christians, and Muslims, and MANY MANY other groups. Certainly, at times he does it in a rather crude way, but that's the point of this movie. It's pure SATIRE. You walk away feeling that the super- ridiculous expectations Borat has of Jews, Women, Americans, and "proper" society are so far out of sync with reality, and this is what makes it so funny. GO see this film!

I'm jewish too, and I found the movie very funny. Don't worry, the guy that plays Borat is actually a JEWISH actor Sacha Baron Cohen. So the jokes are NOT anti-semitic, just jokes. Good old humour. From one jew to another, I'm telling you: go see the movie is really REALLY funny!!

well
there was an instance in which a 500 pound male was practically.... although unintentionally..... 69-ing with someone else... and in that scene there is complete male nudity with scarce censorship. That particular scene lasts for ten excruciating minutes. It is a male on male thing too.... not sexual, just... wrestling. Also there is the showing of Borats "Favorite Son's" penis in a picture. And two different men... for lack of a better term.... "jacking off"...

Aside from that there are mainly severly obese women in thongs and bras.

I would definitely reccomend advisory with this one.

Aside from nudity
there is also.. rather alot of racial things.

alot of anti-jews and anti-homosexuality and pro-prostitution

I am 16 and I was shocked that I was let into this movie because it is obviously rated R for a reason. I was with a group of my friends and I hid my face in my sweatshirt for a good portion of it.

excercise caution with this movie.

I would not recommend it.

The fellow who plays Borat is an observant Jew. He's trying to be brilliantly funny. I like Sarah Silverman but don't know about this guy yet. I do think that if any anti-Semite comes your way I'll hit them over the head with my Methodist bible. 2 Jews have saved my life.

I dont think you understand that the movie is meant as a joke. There are movies making fun of all races and religions, why are people so offended by Borat? If you are really that offended you dont ahve to watch the movie but dont complain about it on yahoo answers.

You cannot criticize it without watching it. You do not know if what you have imagined in your head is true to the storyline. You do not know if you will like or dislike the film for what it is, simply entertainment. Perhaps it may carry an aura of anti-semitism, but do you know if that is indeed the case? DO NOT BE PREJUDICE!!! Watch it if you wish to be entitled as one of its critics or if you are curious about how the writer is trying to make a mockery of all those who dwell in anti-semitism. If you have not had wine, how could you say you do not like it? You have but one life to live and there are so many views in life, so live the lives of many by seeing just as many views. Viel Glück!

I actually saw that movie, so I'm not just guessing.
It was prolificly funny and innocent at the beginning, I haven't laughed so much for many years
but then started to get offensive, even obscene and totally totally disgusting...The most disgusting stuff was the unexpected homo pornographic 69 sex in the face of mainstream normal people.

Many peoples could interpret offense from it: fans of movie stars, Kazahkstanis, homeless people, any immigrants or even tourists from anywhere, etc etc...Some people could avoid offense from it too, setting the record straight (after the Brokeback Mountain movie made people think cowboys are gay) that most cowboys are not gay.
Also, if anything, if you lighten your sensitivity and SEE IT OBJECTIVELY, IT MOCKED ANTISEMITISM ITSELF, made fools and idiots out of antisemites, but it didn't really aim at mocking judaism actually.

Dude, the fact that he's Jewish & make fun of Jews means that he's out to show people the stupidity of stereotype, so if anything, you should support that. I respect people who can laugh & make fun of who they are instead of some people out there only make fun of other races/religions that are not their own. And what makes you think he didn't make fun of others races? In one of his show, he went & buy a house & ask the realtor if there's a lot of men with chocolate faces in the neighborhood. Then in the movie, he called a hotel personnel yo vanilla face. Then also in one of his show, he acts as a gay australian reporter & interview all these christian ministers who think all gay people will go to hell, kind of things. He merely pointout the stereotyping out there in the world & show how stupid they are...

If you watch the movie you will see that he is trying to expose those who are anti-semites. You still don't get the joke after you found out he is Jewish? He keeps Kosher! Would someone who keeps kosher and grew up in an orthodox jewish family really make fun of jews? Get a clue! Stop taking yourself so seriously!!

My son used to watch Da Ali G Show which I didn't think was terribly funny. I don't plan on seeing the Borat movie, but it certainly does seem like Sacha Baron Cohen is trying to show how ridiculous prejudice is.
