If your transmission is leaking in the bell housing ( the front of the trany connects to the engine ) the n its a major repair, about $1500 or your torque converter may also be leaking its also in your bell housing $300 not to expensive but you will have to pull the tranny or engine ( tranny probably easier) but if its leaking from the pan $100 it would be a cheap fix or the tail shaft housing rear of tranny seal $50 on rear wheel drive, but on front wheel drive its gonna be spendy $100 to $3000 any way you look at it. But in whatever the case the only thing you can do is have another seal put in or gasket . sealing with silicone might get you by for a while but eventually the heat and oil will eat it away. And plus on foriegn cars unless done your self are a heck of alot more expensive.

Automatic transmission fluid normally has a reddish color. Dirty motor oil often looks black if there have been no engine oil or oil filter change. Check the engine oil regularly and more carefully for oil leaks. If the only leak you have is at the rear main bearing oil seal, then continue your driving while monitoring your motor oil losses. Replacing the rear mail oil seal is not cost effective unless you are going to keep your car forever.

About two thirds of the transmissions in the world seep a little fluid. Just keep an eye on the level.

if its a pan leak its only going to be around 85 bucks to change the filter and fluid and fix the leak, and if its a front seal its going to cast around 300 to repair ,because they have to remove the transmission to do it,so you see it can be a little, or a lot to do,,i do them all the time, and usually its the front seal and usually cost around 300 to repair, good luck,i hope this help,s.

worst case is 100-200 dollars because they might have to remove the transmission itself to find out where it's leaking... i don't think any more than 200 though....
