I've had many of them to burst. I actually have two of them right now. It will burn, it is pretty uncomfortable but it is not unbearable. The best thing to do is take 600 to 800 ibuprofen. That's only 3 or 4 pills, same as prescription. Then get in a warm shower and just relax. The heat helps a lot. By the time you get out the med's have had a chance to kick in. Then just rest a couple of hours. It feels about like cramping at the beginning of your period. Keep your legs elevated and just rest is the best thing. I've had to deal with these things for 12 years. It's like having bad period cramps for a day but concentrated more to one spot.

YES.I get them all the time. I was constantly being scheduled for ultrasounds and in and out of the dr's office bfore they finally caught one on the radar! the pain was hard to explain. I wasnt going to pass out or anything like that. Kind of like a BAD stomach ache. It was at its worst for about a day and a half...and then when it finally burst I had a fever for 2 days. It's NOTHING like child birth or passing a stone or anything like that. I have had 3 more since and now that I know what to expect, it honestly isnt THAT bad. More furstrating that anything. I was told that there would be no medication or surgery unless the cyst gets to a certain size, which none of mine ever seem to reach. HANG IN THERE. if you want, feel free to email or im with any questions :)

I had one about a year ago, and unless it is really big, you should not feel anything if it burst, maybe a little cramping. They ended up having to remove mine because it was so large (size of a canalope)and was causing me discomfort, but it was a pretty intense surgery (kind of like what a c-section might feel like). I recommend that unless the pain is unbarable, or it is really large to just wait and see. They don't always burst, sometimes they just go away on their own. and if it dos burst it's not usually harmful to your body, the blood gets absorbed into your system.

i have had ovarian cysts all my life. some bother me, some don't, i've had one rupture which hurt like hell, and spread the cysts to other parts of my body. i've had some lazer blasted , some shrunken by medications, others removed surgically. It all depends oh where they are and how bothersome they are. If you are haveing a lot of bleeding at any time you should probably have it removed. I still have a lot of tenderness down there. but i also have 3 children. so i guess the decision is up to you and your doctor as to how you should treat each cyst.

I had one for a while, never had one burst though. My mom did and she says it felt like someone kicked her to the floor and put a knife in her stomach, so I don't suppose it feels very good. I had to take birthcontrol pills to get rid of them and they still come back from time to time. I think you should definately go in to the ER to make sure it's not ruining your overies.

I had an ovarian cyst and I had it for quite a while..cant remember exactly how long but it got large.I went to doctor on a Monday and had surgery the next Monday..Dr. will have to run tests on you, such as ultra sound ( to determine the size of it). My stomach got really hard and it was hard to wear tight pants. I would advise you to get to a doctor asap! Please! It is not going to go away.

when my busted. it hurt to breathe it hurt to move. the most you can do is lay there and try to cry, because even crying makes it hurt worse. the pain for me lasted 1 1/2 hours to 2 1/2 hours. the doctor told me if i felt one coming on take Advil or some pain reliever. however you never know when it's coming it will just hit you. mine would bust every other month. but if they are busting, they won't take them out. only if they are getting really big.
