I have a 1992 Buick Lesabre that has had nightmare electrical problems before that took the garages weeks to figure out, so I hope this isn;t something like that, but here's what happenned:
Over the past couple months my turn signals have been working intermittently--some days they would work, some days not, and when they did they didn't blink normally, they would blink slow and uneven. On the days they didn;t work, I at least still had the turn arrow light up on my dashboard.
Now they seem to have quit working altogether, and I don't even have the green arrow lights on the dash. I can probably live without turn signals, but is this something that will "spread" to my taillights and brakelights, or will it remain confined to the turn signals?

a couple of things can cause this. My first suggestion is the turn signal flasher. Oddly enough some times these are found in the fuse panel...which is easy to locate. Other times they are under the dash on the drive side. normally just hanging there. Try to locate this by doing this. Turn on your emergency flashers...you should hear it clicking. when you find this one...the other normally looks just like it...but by doing this it eliminates you changing the wrong one. Also...this is interchangeable with the turn signal flasher so you can take this one out and put it in your turn signal flasher and it should work.

Ok now if this doesn't work...on the drivers door...where the door meets the body at the bottom...there is a panel on the body where you get in and out. there should be some screws holding a panel down where you may sometimes step. Remove this panel and under it you will find wires. check those wires for breakage and so on. I have seen this many times and it will cause the problem you are talking about

Hope this helps.

First, turn on your lights and check for a bad or blown bulb....otherwise you probably have a bad flasher. Go to Auto Zone or a similar place, and they will hook you up with a new one, and even print out install instructions. It should be a simple plug in install, I think, located in or near the fuse panel. Plus a flasher isn't expensive. Hope this info helped

typically, when signal lights *starts* to fail intermittently, the culprit is the "multi-function switch". The switch that controls the signals, and the "hi - low" beam function. This switch, inside the steering wheel column starts to loose electrical contact, and the lights may signal when the steering wheel is moved or "wiggled". Best to have the local shop inspect or repair.

check the flasher(its up under the dash,on the drivers side,or in the fuse block)sounds like it has a short in it.best to get them fixed before inspection time.

I hope you are at least using hand signals. Did you check the fuses and fuse box, maybe there is a short in there.

could be a bad flasher, a bad ground, dirty/ corroded connections, broken wires, a bad turn signal switch, many things really. i'd get it checked out your going to cause an accident without turn signals.

your blinker solinid is shot. its the round thing in your fuse panal. ask your local parts shop for a replacement. it'll only be a couple of bucks.
