chlorine in tap water will kill most fish. let it stand for 24 hours if you can. never replace more than 2/3rds of the water in your tank at one time.

you cant change water straight from the tap. theres chlorine and fluoride and ammonia. you either have to let the water sit for 24 hours or put in a special neutralizer. Aquasafe works really well.

your molly is probably dead or dying.

my advice: use aquasafe, and dont get mollys. they are awful. we couldnt keep one alive for more than a few months, following exactly by the book.
get comet goldfish, theyre really easy to take care of and they get big and cool if they have space, but they stay small and cool if they dont.

Mollies do best with slightly salty water...I went through 2 mollies before anyone at the pet store decided to tell me this. They could weened into just fresh water but it's best to ask how the water is at the pet store so you could get your tank as close to the one they came from before you put them in.

You want to use something like amquel plus or novaqua to detoxify the water because tap water has chlorine or chloramine in it and thats fatal to fish

If he is upside down or sideways and not moving he is dead....If he is moving slightly he is dying...did you change the water temp too fast, or add chemicals without removing the carbon from the filter?
