You know how they always show pictures of the host after commercials (right when it starts again)? Are those pictures especially taken for SNL or are they just pictures from something else?

I'd say they're take specifically for the show as well. And you'll also notice that when it comes back from commercial before the weekly band plays, it will show their picture instead of the hosts. Also, ealier in the week, NBC will run an ad with the host AND the musical guest standing and talking to us to tell us to watch the upcoming show. This is the day I bet they take the pictures ;-)

I think these are take for the show by nbc and/or Snl. Because i've seen some of them take with the music guest. I have the 25th anniversary book where they show some of them but i don't recall if they mention where the pictures come from... will have to take another look to that great book...

ive always wondered about those pictures myself, but i figure their taken especially for the show, b/c what r the odds that every single one of the SNL hosts already have pictures like that lol.

They're taken specifically for the show. That's why some of the time they're doing stupid things in the pictures, you know? Since it's not really serious.
