The most accurate way to take a baby's temperature is rectally. For a baby under 3 months old, if his temperature is over 100.4 F rectally, a call to your doctor's office is in order. The immune system of most babies over 3 months old has developed quite well and there is not as big of a risk that a common illness will turn into something major. For a baby over 3 months, it is important to note what other symptoms are present other than fever. It is not uncommon for babies to run a fever with many common illnesses such as an upper respiratory infection (or a cold) which may also lead to an ear infection. If your baby is running a fever over 103 F and is lethargic, won't drink, or is hard to wake up, this would be cause for alarm and warrants a visit to the ER after hours or a call to your doctor during the day.

If you feel he needs it (him, not the thermometer reading) then give him the medicine again according to the instructions. But you're talking about a very low-grade fever, it's really nothing to worry about. A child's temperature naturally varies quite a bit. Don't get into the habit of drugging him every time it's higher than average. If he hadn't had the vaccinations yesterday would you have even thought to take his temperature, given the degree of fussiness? It's quite likely that he's mostly being fussy because he's picking up that you are concerned. Of course if you are worried call the doctor, but otherwise just try to treat him as normal.

A normal body temperature for a healthy baby is between 97 and 100.4 degreed fahrenheit.
Use your best judgement on whether or not to call the doctor. If you think that your child is seriously ill, then call!
If you do call remember to tell the doctor your babies other symptoms: not eating, fussing, no energy, pale or flushed, cough, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.

well it really depends on the age, the younger the baby, the lower it is. ive been told that anything 102 and under is okay. but if the baby is only a few months old i would say anything around 101 is high

I would be wary of any temp over 100. You can keep your baby comfortable with infant Tylenol and a lukewarm bath.
I would be taking them to a hospital with any uncontrollable temp over 104 - my doctor always told me that.
ps - I've never had to take my 3 children to the hospital with a high temp thank the Lord.

It depends on the age of the baby. If he/she is under 3 months take them in at 38 celcius. over that you can usually treat with tylenol. Your best bet is to ask your doctor though.
