The best work for working up an appetite is by first digesting your previous meal and then actually wanting to eat something. Moving around, lifting things, looking at food --none of that stuff 'works up an appetite'. Your body must be /hungry/ before you can work up an appetite.
'Appetizers' were invented for this purpose: to get you worked up and in the mood for the main entree!

by not eating for a while... or by eating a carrot! Carrots make me hungry for some reason or another... I eat one large carrot, and within 30 minutes, I'm hungry... strange, yes... :-)
