i own a ps1(play station1) and im going to buy a ps2(play station2)
will the cord and controlers from the ps1 work on the ps2 and will ps2 games work on ps1? vice versa?

Yes, it does. It uses the same adapters, controllers, etc., except memory card!
And of course NO, PS2 games does not work on your PS1 console. If it did work, who needs a PS2!
Once you have the PS2, you can get rid of your PS1 since PS2 can play PS1 games!
Wow, you are way behind...still getting PS2, I mean that console is so old now!
PS3 is already out in Japan and soon in America!

never mind the first to answer. he seems to be dissatisfied with his life. but to try to answer you Q. the controllers should be able to workin the ps2. i dont know about the cords but your ps1 games wil work inthe ps2 but not the other way around. ifyou get a ps2 there is no real reason to keep the first unless you want to keep in hooked up inanother room. everyhtig you can do on a ps1 you and do on the ps2. =)

Yes,PS1 Games will Work On Ps2.And No The Control's won't work with the playstation 1 to Playstaion 2.

If you buy a PS2 it should come w/ it's own controls...and no PS2 does not work on PS1 ..but PS1 games do work on PS2

Hello, The Ps1 games will work on ps2 but not vice versa. you will have to buy new equipment including controllers..
The Ps2 should come with one controller, you can purchase an additional one for about 35$ each.
not to be mean or anything but stop being cheap and open up ur wallet and let some air in.
