Of course music educates people. Learning rhythm or timing helps with math, and coordination.Being able to clap a rhythm takes some coordination. Learning to read notes on paper helps to understand a little about graphs. Listening to music , a person can learn about rhythm, pitch, volume, and tempo.
Writting music with words helps in the area of writing. A person can write a good poem and write music to fit the rhythm of the words. Music can help a special ed. child to keep pace to help with coordination. Would it be easy to learn to dance without music? A person can learn to work faster while playing a fast song. There are many thing one can learn from music.

Yes I think it does educate in a lot of ways...some good ...some bad... Some examples are like rappers rapping about all they types of guns and types of condoms they use. That educates people on what kinds of guns and types of condoms are out there. Another example would be when they use all the slang words...So people go around asking whats brain? or head?...and they learn its another word for a b lo wjo b.
Now for the real rappers they educate positive things to people...like how to treat a lady....that's how it used to be back in the day...even though i am young i do know the difference between today's music and the older music...

Everything can educate people up to some point. Different music can educate people in different ways. You'd have to be more specific for me to answer this. What kind of music do you mean? If you're just talking about music in general...sure, it can. The lyrics are usually some sort of lesson to the listener (unless it's fergalicious...then it's just bragging). And the melody can stimulate thinking and memory.

Music is the news. It informs the world about different things. Seriously, without music, we wouldn't probably be doing all that we're doing now. It makes us be more creative in how we live, how we talk, dress, walk...everything. So to answer your question, music does educate people.

it's mostly used as a stimulation for the mind...something to aid learning.
take something like seasame street or the muppets....they used songs and dancing to teach children many of lifes lessons and morales....as with many kids shows....this aids with the learning, it's easier to remember something that was catchy and unique, rather than just read or lectured upon.
listening to classical music while studying or writing lierature can also be positive, as it has no words and allows you to create them with feeling and ideas created by the sounds that you hear.
Other such cases like rap music or blues allows people to see the world from a different perspective while other more popular mainstream music often deals with issues more close to home.

So in the basic sense, music aids education, it makes the words and information seem a litter bit more interesting.

Music will educate anybody in any case or circumstance. Music will let you express the true feelings kept under your skin, deep inside your soul. Music educates and cultures crowds, cheers and make us happy. Either if you play actual music, or are just a listener you will always do better thanks to music.

Good question!
