Probably as many as the married wives cheat on the men

Well I would say that you have to look at each situation individually. However, alot, I'd say more than half of men will cheat on their spouse. Oh and did we define cheat? Could it be just a kiss? Or does it have to be flat out sex? I'd say alot of guys don't value their relationship and werent really sure they wanted it in the first place, it was just something comfortable and secure. I almost can't blame the guys because we all want something somewhat special whether we want to be loved or wanted sexually or both, needs need to be met. So often times women will 'slack' in alot of areas once they 'have the man' and know that he's stuck with her. Really, they can lose interest and give up. Especially once that women has kids, bless her for being a good mom, but she never dresses up anymore, wears sweats, gains weight, doesnt work out, focuses on the kids and 'forgets or puts aside' the mans basic needs. Both can be at fault but it's true: Some guys are just total jerks and just screw you over because they want to or they can.

Sadly enough, MANY do. Some of them do it because they arent getting enough love at home from their wives. Im not justifying it because a relationship is built on communication, and if you dont have that, then you can kiss your relationship goodbye. If they arent being satisfied in their marriage, then they should be able to say that upfront to their wives and try to come up with a solution.
Some on the other hand just do it for fun...and actually find it "exciting" to be sneaking around and fooling with several women...to me,thats just sick...Marriage is such a sacred commitment...some just dont get it.
Believe me honey,i've seen it all my life, and theres nothing fun about it...you hurt so many people along the way by cheating on your spouse, especially if there are children involved.
Oh,and you might want to re-phrase your question because its not only men who are doing it nowadays...several women cheat on their partners everyday...

We have asked many different people and we have come up with about 60% of married men cheat. They usually cheat because they are bored or they are looking for something to spice up their lives. Some men cheated because their wives no longer wanted sex. Others cheated because they wanted to be with someone younger and more exciting.

Probably not as many as you'd think. A lot of the time the wife might think she's being cheated on when she's really not, for any number of reasons.

On the other hand men have a built in urge to mate with as many women as possible - it's genetic, there's nothing we can do about it - so if the opportunity arises many of us would take it. Not because we think we are cheating on our wives on purpose, but because our hormones are getting the better of us.

I dont agree with Blazegirl - i'm sure that it is certainly not such a high percentage of married men cheating on their wives - certainly a percentage do, but how could we ever get a figure? And if we knew how many, then so what?

Why do they do it? All sorts of reasons i imagine. Bored with their wife, their life, themselves........

The statistics show about 51% of women cheat, and 50% of men. Of course statistics are never exact, so I would say that approximately 50% of people cheat.
They cheat because that's who they are. They will come up with all kind of excuses of why they do it, depending on if it's a man or woman.

people are only as monogomous as they have to be. So all men and women if they get the chance to fool around and think they won't get caught then they will.
In Italy some recent stats said 85% married men had been unfaithful and 70% women.

Why? because it is so exhilirating. The passion and the risk of being caught.
A fatal mix

I don't think BLAZEGIRL and OBRIA can justify their answers unless they have surveyed 100% of the men in this world,so although they are entitled to their opinion, their opinion IS bullc-rap.Many men and women cheat because the grass is supposed to be greener on the other side of the fence-a common misconception, its not. Many cheat because of differing problems in a relationship, cheating is NEVER the answer,COMMUNICATION is.Many people cheat because they are allowed to get away with it,and many cheat because its just the way they are.All cheaters have a few things in common though;no morals,no respect,no principals, and give no thought to people who are often devastatingly affected by their cowardly actions.I HATE ALL CHEATS.
