No, I don't, although occasionally, what is intended as sympathy, instead, comes at me like rudeness, inconsideration or insensitivity. At those times, it's all
I can do, to not repeatedly slap the guilty party,
until the proverbial light bulb goes on over their head.

Actually now that you mention it --YES!! I hate to be sympathized with, what gives them the right to "feel" sorry for me? I'm a big girl, I'm in control of my life, I do not need interference, ya know?

I would think that one who shuns sympathy when it's called for has a sickness that needs addressing.....

No..
I don't try to control other peoples' emotions.
That's their liberty.
Sympathy, anger, sadness, love, obsession, passion, etc...
Something my dad said to me today that really stuck with me... "Who are you to decide how someone will feel about you? It's their personal choice."
I agree completely.

Yes... at times... it isn't there when I need it... it is there when I don't need it... It's frustrating, but I know I need to change myself in order to accept it when I need it and is given...
