Some spyware--or maybe they should be called "anti-spyware") programs are not compatible with your existing virus protection or firewall. For me, Norton and McAfee are the WORST! It's been my experience that they not only don't do what they're supposed to, but they wreak havoc by freezing programs and letting in nasties like browser hijackers and key loggers.

If you can, try uninstalling the program, clear cache and cookies, defragment and reboot and see what happens. If you can't do anything, you can always call the "Geek Squad." Look in your local phone book.

The best protection package I know of is Trend Micro. (www.trendmicro.com) You have to download the program since you can't buy it commercially and it costs a bit more, but it's worth it.

Spyware is not a very good thing for one. Spyware are tabs that hackers, stupid people in the world that try to hack into your computer for fun, put on files so the they get in and out of your PERSONAL business. I would try going to a good computer store and buying a great Anti-Spyware software. I would recommend getting the most up to date type of Anti-Spyware software that you can find. Norton Anti-Virus system would have everything that you need for your computer, but it only works for the 2000's and newer. Hope this information is a helping hand and I'm very happy to be of service to you.

could be you cleaned up some things that are there legitimately - part of a software or operating system installation.
Could be that the spyware software is spyware itself - there are some nasties out there masquerading as cleanup software.
more details would help with a more specific answer.
