DRY HUMOUR is very amusing, but in a subtle and clever way that does not make you actually laugh aloud.

Dry humor is characterized by restraint, and lack of emotion in its delivery. It is wry.

I offer an example of it:

Mahatma Ghandi was asked by an English journalist what he thought of Western Civilization. Ghandi replied, "Ahhh, that would be a very good idea."

One of my other favorites is the one about the guard who rushes into the palace yelling, "The peasants are revolting!" And the king responds, "Yes, aren't they."

Usually refers to someone who's humor is understated (you have to think about it). Witty (playing with words) instead of stupid, silly, or overly comical.

Can also refer to sarcasm or humor delivered with a straight face so the recipient isn't immediately aware that a joke has been made.
