As a fellow Aussie, thought I would help you out with the xmas/Christmas debate! I realise that you did not mean any offense by it, I will make sure I never use xmas in Yahoo answers now!

Anyway, I got married a few months ago. For the first time, my husband and I will be hosting Christmas at our house. Just my sister and parents will be visiting but we will have breakfast, open our presents and then have a swim before a yummy cold lunch.

I will also be travelling after Chrismas, spending New Year in Cairns.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

It's Christmas, not xmas, in my home. And we go to my brother's house on Christmas Eve. Then to my sister's house on Christmas morning for a brunch. Then in the evening we have my kids and grandkids over, and that's when we exchange our gifts.

We're in Florida, so it is generally fairly warm. No cozy fireplaces, and never a white Christmas.

i admire the trip season! I choose the words 'winter Solstice' over 'yuletide' or 'Christmas'. The day particularly is consistent with a real astrological experience. i've got used yule in the previous while announcing regardless of yet X is used as an abbreviation, so a strategies as i be conscious of. as quickly as, a together as in the past, I asked a query approximately Christians using that abbreviation and there particularly turn into one responder who turn into indignant. i'm greater glaring than that as quickly as I advise to offend. ;-) even regardless of the undeniable fact that, if somebody is going to get their panties in a wad over that, they could desire to no longer be at right here.

On CHRISTmas eve we will be home, until about 6 when we celebrate CHRISTmas eve with our church family.
On CHRISTmas morning, we will be home - just immediate family to celebrate quietly together, and then we will head out to my mother and fathers home to spend the day with them and hopefully as many of my sibling and their families as can come in to town. My father is very sick, and I am looking forward to the family being together to love and support each other.
For those in the US - Happy Thanksgiving to you and
Merry CHRISTmas all!

With my Beautiful Wife and Children. I hope you will have a wonderful time as well. As a child my brother told me God was born on Christmas. For me understanding this is my greatest thrill. Thanks for the question and the memories.

I will be at home doing my best to ignore the materialistic orgy of crass consumption, drunkeness and mediocre sentimentality that this hideous festival is. Shame on you Christians
