I think they should have an equal combination of both.Both are important learning structures in growth and development.Children of course learn through academic studies,but "play" is also a form of learning for children.I'm not saying put them in front of a playstation all day to play video games,but let them experience life through creative and imaginative play by themselves and with friends/family...this is imperative in their mental growth.

No, I don;t agree. Children should not learn more in academic besides they are not yet very much ready into. Children are still in the age of playing and socializing with other children. Playing and socializing the child with other children will help him/her learn something but depends on what games they are playing.

learning is important along with social activities and playing...i would say a good blend is half studying and half the social activities and play... this is what the school does, so it is good for home also

no, you need to find a health balance. If you just force academics and allow no social time, you'll end up with a smart asshole.
