Since all types make up this planet : the good, the bad, geniuses, the dull, the ignorant, the brave , the shy, friendly, unfriendly, the noble, etc, a positive, worth-while person would be the best person that they could be, if they are a carpenter , one should try to be the best carpenter , he or she can be ; be the best dancer, fisherman, scientist ,etc , he or she can be. It takes all sorts to make this world ; remember , even the dull and ignorant , they too have their story. Suppose you know that you are the reincarnation of some-one famous , would you think that you are more worth -while being born than any-one else? I can safely say no , because we all came into this world for various purposes and missions ; even the retarded have a right to be here among us : And remember , you are a child of the universe ,like the trees and the stars you have a right to be here.

Well I think by your asking that question, you have already put yourself on the right track because your intentions determine your path. But I hope you would eventually arrive at the discovery that you are living in a state of grace. By realizing this you become more and more appreciative of your own life. Your understanding of this is simple but will take a lifetime to deeply understand. You have been given the gift of life. I feel like as long as I am always giving back in my heart and my intentions and always realizing how fortunate I am and always trying to create and give and do more for in small ways in my everyday life, that I have used my life in a good and honorable way. Doing a great thing is hard work and sacrifice. But the hardest thing to do in life is the everyday choices and holding yourself to a standard that you can feel good about.

Man, I think I have already done it. I have taught for 25 years and changed many teens lives, and I have also had a few teens change mine. I also have three sons and one is bipolar. My son's doctor says had he been born to another mother, he would probably have been institutionalized. I know it's not my fault and I work hard to make his life better, but it is driving me insane. I suppose it is my lot in life and it is the reason I was born, but what is his? So, you just never know what plans you play in the universe and if you even really make a difference at all or are just another of the millions of dominoes needed to keep this earth going.

That's great! I was just thinking about this today! I was thinking that it doesn't take much to be worthy of life. That's free, everybody gets it. I think, instead, we should strive to live a life worthy of death. I mean living a life so that wherever you're at, you can honestly say, "if I die today, I'm happy with where I left off". No unfinnished business, speak the truth in love to whomever you meet. Help those who need it (when you're the right person to meet their need). Become the person you want to be. Don't give excuses and don't take the excuses from others. Strive to make every moment count. Do all that you can with what you have, wherever you are.

live life to the full, make mistakes but also learn from them, get an education, learn from others, pass on your knowledge and understanding to others, treat others as you'd like to be treated, experience different cultures, see the world and travel, learn a language or two, do all the things that you enjoy doing; likewise, take up a hobby or a pasttime and try to persevere and stick with it, follow your instincts, have faith and respect for yourself, make a contribution to charity, help those less fortunate to yourself, get married and have a few kids and settle down, be grateful for the fact that you are here in the first place and for you to make the most of this one life that you've got and as best you can

Oh my, good question, I think about this every day .....
In my opinion, just to try to be a good person. Treat others as you would like to be treated yourself, never assume you are above others because you might have a better education/more money/social standing etc. Be honest, law abiding, pay your taxes & if you can afford it, give money to charities you believe in. Try to always make your own decisions & be tolerant to those with different beliefs & educate yourself about unfamiliar concepts, rather than be dictated to by the media, embrace different cultures & be willing to learn new stuff & meet new people.
If you have kids try & encourage them to follow the above, the earlier the better, then they don't think anything of it ....

Be as nice to others as you would want them to be to you and even if you don't feel too fulfilled in your job, learn to make something of lasting value which will make you proud of yourself, be it an incredible model of the Taj Mahal, or a four-line poem.
Value yourself and others for the things you and they can do rather than looking negatively at what you and they can't do or don't have.
Look at things from the point of view of a glass half full rather than a glass half empty.
Have a good life!

The first thing for being born is to pay respect to our parents in addition to loving them. And then, depending on whether one is a believer or not, be grateful to God or Nature, as the case may be, for the gift of the precious life.

Take a breath. Even animals have worth without social obligation. It would be nice if everyone could show their worth in a philosophic way pleasing to all who know about it, but actually life itself is precious just for being.
