I'm sinking deeper and deeper in a hole of bitter right now and can't break the cycle. How do you break a bitter cycle and snap out of it in time for supper?

Feel sorry for them (as sorry as you feel for yourself)

Also, thicken your skin.

Take deep breaths. Since I don't know what makes you bitter it is hard to say. But if you can remove the object that causes it. You need to see someone you can rant to and know it is safe. Try a local counselor.

My honest answer is to act beaten. People just can't wait to prove they were right. Nod, agree, stay silent. Soon you will be hearing all their sad, beaten, bitter ways. Now it is you turn to shine. You won't feel bitter anymore. It's almost God like.

Cry. Do it every time it comes back. It's the most natural way to react for a human, just like sleeping is for tiredness. One day, it will have been worked off.

You have to take a reality check. Do you have a roof over your head? Food to eat? Clothes to wear? If you have any or all of these things - you have more than lots of people have. Be thankful for that.

You have to reach down inside and say, "Hell no - this is NOT going to break me!" Get angry and say - "Hell NO! This is not going to break me!" Then laugh - I mean really laugh crazy and say, "Hell no - this is not going to break ME ever!!!!!"

Usually by this time I feel stronger.

I hope it works for you.
