Hello, I am studying graphic design and my current project is on the subject of good and bad manners. The tricky part of this project is we are not allowed to use any imagery. It has to be typography only. I have a few ok ideas eg having a slogan saying 'Don't push in to a queue' with some text trying to barge it's way into the queue.
Today though I have gone off the idea a little, and was thinking about the film Charlie and the chocolate factory and ho wth greedy bad mannered kids ended up with nothing and well mannered Charlie ended up with the factory. So I am sort of thinking on the lines of good manners can be well rewarded or nice guys don't always finish last etc. As it is only type based though I am struggling to think of ways in which I can make an exciting poster on this subject.
If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful. Hopefully I will be inspired by something soon. Thanks for anyone that has made the effort to read all this :)

Do you know the phrase "Mind your Ps and Qs"? That would be good to do. Or an alphabet or something.

Good luck, that's hard!

Hi, you need to step back a mile, and brain storm some more.

make a list of all the things you could consider rude, or 'bad manners'

picking your nose,

etc

then do a few line sketches for each one, you will soon have few ideas, which you can go on to develop. I don't know at what level you are studying, but you need a good spread of ideas at any graphics presentation, and the extra work makes for a great sketch book filler.

Interesting project. I don't know what design softare you have at your disposal, but use creative fonts that you could, perhaps, reshape by the use of a shaping tool so that you can distort the font to make it appear to be bulging in the middle or at either end.
You might find an Intuos tablet and pen useful for shaping your layout. Check out the link below and good luck.

How about "Always dot your i's and cross your t's." It has a global meaning and is typographical by nature. As a designer myself, I see possibilities as I type this.
