i dont believe in fate, but i do believe that everything is set in stone, and there can be no alterations to the way the universe works, this is due to the way particles and energies interact, a computer large enough could map out the velocity of every atom in one instant, and use that data to predict where those atoms would be in say 5 or 10 years from now. the only exeption to this rule is when god intervenes (for whetever reason) and causes atoms to behave irrationally- science is begining to explain this using quantom theory, but i still prefer the term miracle.
as for your feeling cruddy, that is due to external influences, which are beyond your control, and the only thing which is making you feel negative about the whole situation is your disposition.
Cheer up, take pleasure from the fact that everything is on track, and God loves you, he just needs you to feel down for a while.
you can stop being sad when you realise its all beyond your controll and that there is purpose behind everything. Yay!

Can I turn my answer 360 degrees around?

I don't believe in fate and can give you a pretty good reason why. If everything is set out for us and events are predetermined then we are not responsible for our actions. They were going to happen without any help or hindrance from us. If you believe in free will (and I do) then you are responsible for all of your actions and their consequences. I know there are some things completely out of our control, but I don't think fate has a hand in that. Free will is a funny thing too, sometimes we are free to make any choice we want, only there aren't many choices and one is much more likely than the others. We don't have an infinite number of options to act out.

To push fate to its ultimate end, imagine a man accused of a serious crime in the dock saying to the jury "It's not my fault, it's fate, no matter what choices I make I was meant to commit that crime, I am not responsible". The jury would have to let him go...

Answering as a non-determinist but rather as someone who looks at life fom a 'cause and effect' perspective and that we all have free will. So, when I decide to run late and catch a later train and the one I would otherwise have been on is in a horrendous crash the possible consequence has been avoided by exercise of free will. The very idea of fate and its all mapped out and there is no choice of any real significance to be made is to appalling to contemplate.

Every one desires some thing or wants to become some thing like a scientist, engineer, doctor , pilot etc etc.
But a person becomes only that which he is destined to do.
This is the place where a man's educational qualifications become unconnected with his profession.
I have seen Doctors as successful film artistes, Actors as successful politicians. We even have a cricketer who has become a comedian, TV commentator and a member of Parliament. This clearly shows people do what they are destined to and not what they intend to do. This is called fate.
The lives of Abraham Lincoln's, Henry ford, Wright brothers, and Joseph Pulitzer are examples of this fate.

I believe that everything does happen for a reason It's the only way to explain how the past shows itself in the present and the future. If you don't like your life right now try changing something whether it is to do things with a positive attitude it can and will make a difference. Make good choices and your life should get better sooner or later.

No worry, everyone's life is a bi***. fate is kinda messed up and a little misconstrued. If you think about it human beings are self interested, and have free will. therefore instinctually humans will usually act in a way that benefits them, and in that sense it would generally be pretty easy to pedict or predetermine our course of action. but then again, if that were the case then we would all have the same fate. Ultimately, maybe we do.

Fate doesn't exist, good decision making does.

If your life is crap at the moment, then you must first begin to look at the decisions you are making.

As George Costanza once said. Since my life is not working out, I'm going to do the opposite of every things I once did. (Getting up from his booth in the restaurant, approaching a woman)

"Hello, my name is George Costanza. I'm 35, bald, and I still live with my parents."

My life has been **** since June, but you make out of life what you want/will!
Do not know why your life is ****, but i have pain did not know existed, but you cope and carry on and take each day as it comes!
You pick yourself up and brush yourself down and get on with it, especially if others are dependant on you!
Remember this............
no matter how bad something is, there is always someone out there who is worse off than you!
