i dropped my ipod and it just broke in half! The screen is fine the back part of it is connected still by a string and one string is not connected i put it back 2gether and plugged it in to charger but it is showing the very low batter sign (it blinks about every 5 secs but not normal blinks) i called apple and they said it is 250 dollars to fix it. I think thats rediculous for them just to attach a string. I COUld fix it but i don't no where 2 put it. Is there anything else i can do? it's a yellow tape looking string and its stragight with a small dent at the end which i'm guessing is so it can fit into w/e slot its suppose to be in. I have a black ipod video..if that helps please help me!!

Omg dont you hate it when you are asking a serious question and people make fun of you??? I HATE THAT! but anyway..
Did you try putting it into different places to see if it works? Try that. If there really is no other solution, it would be best to do a way to earn money for it, by doing chores, mowing lawns, stands, etc. I mean, you can buy another one if there is no way to fix it. But like I said try that, or ask someone else to try that, but dont let it break even more. research how ipods look inside, or something, and maybe you'll find the solution. I dont know what else i can say but i hope i helped!

If I were you I'd just save up money to buy a new one. There is no telling what might have gotten jarred loose besides the wire you speak of. I wouldn't pay 250 to fix it.

If you want to try and fix it yourself do a search for the schematics for the ipod although it might be difficult to find something like that since the video ipod is still so new.

Whoa!! tough luck Im sorry to tell you but its better if you just buy a new one because for Apple to chrage 250 dollars to fix that one you could just buy a 4GB iPod nano and live with that one. Im sorry but its kind a hopeless case for your current iPod.

Yeah...i feel your pain lol. Your best bet is to buy a new mp3 player. Dont get another ipod. I like sansa e260. It's very similar to the ipod nano, but with tons more features, and much cheaper.

See this is why you should not buy from apple. If you would have purchased from circuit city and bought the warranty even if you run it over with a lawnmower they replace it for free....When will people learn? =(

It's NOT funny, and that's why nobody's joking. You dropped it, you voided the warranty, it's your fault, you're screwed. Either buy a new one or do without, because you're not going to be able to fix it.

If they say it's gonna cost 250 to fix it, you might as well try to save up the dough to get a new one.
