Does anyone know any cool websites that ARE NOT scary? And are appropriate for girls ages 8-12? Here are some of my interests and favorite websites:
Millsberry.com
Candystand.com (I love the 4 wheels game!)
Myscene.com (NOT myspace! I am not allowed to go there!)
Barbie.com
Any ideas? I am the oldest and am sheltered and homschooled-- so anything that would be appropriate for a girl around age 10? (I'm really older, though. I just don't want to tell you my real age- safety reasons.) Thanks so much! If only 1 person answers and I think it's a good answer then I will pick it as the best answer!

Have you tried Virtual Magic Kingdom (vmk.com) or Neopets (neopets.com) they are both lots of fun.

You can always go to Home of the Underdogs. They have some pretty sweet and absolutely free games there. The only bad thing is that you will probably need to have Windows 98/95/ME as your operating system to play most of them.

One website I like, because it's funny, and because it's appropriate (my 10-year-old sis can watch it, too) is Homestar Runner. It's pretty much a cartoon series.

The only thing you may not like is that they'll use the word c**p a few times.

Try Yahooligans (http://yahooligans.yahoo.com/ ) - they screen all their content to be appropriate for kids in that age range, so anything you find on there is going to be ok. They feature "cool sites" that change every so often, and you can look through their archives for lots of good sites. They also have a section of games.

Here's Yahooligans' list of girls' sites:

Those would all be appropriate for girls in that age range.

Have you tried Neopets (http://www.neopets.com/ )? My sister used to love that site when she was younger. They've got all kinds of games and stuff.

Now, given that the minimum age to be here is 13, and you don't seem like one to lie about your age on sign up, I have to assume you're at least 13. I think your parents are a bit over protective. You seem plenty cautious, and I really don't think you're going to run into any trouble going to sites aimed at kids your own age, either.
