Don't stop because of that!!!! Haven't you ever read the book where the girl wants to be a dancer but she has big feet and everybody teases her and her grandma is the only one encouraging her but then her grandma dies? Does the girl give up just because she has over-sized feet? NO! Of course not she goes after it because she loves to dance! So never give up just because you have a birthmark or a scar or big feet that just means your special it isn't a bad thing. So go after your dream!!!!! Good luck!!!!

I'm dancer too and I love it! Just like you I have really wide feet and size 81/2-9. Don't let your feet stop you from doin something you love to do(if you do like to dance), I'm not letting mine slow me down and I just started point(the class) this year and It's alot of fun soo nothin is gonna stop me and if this is somethin you like doin don't give in b/c it may be hard at first but, soon you'll be able to glide through the classes and the dances!!

I would think that they would actually look better than a short foot as they would make your legs look longer on point.
Did you know that the average shoe size of an American woman is a 9 so your feet aren't as huge as you think.
Please don't let your foot size stop you from dancing. I could give you many examples of athletes that have overcome very great handicaps from a one legged skier to a bowler with 2 artificial arms.
Life is short. If you enjoy it, then do it. I'll watch for you on PBS!

Yes...but is ballet truly your calling? As you've discovered, your feet will make it more difficult to do some of the moves but doesn't mean they can't be done with grace. If you feel it's not for you, there's always other dances where the size won't matter.

If dance is what you love to do then allow your self that joy. If you perform on stage remember that the audience is really too far away to notice your feet.

Of all the cosmetic surgeries they do, they can't reduce the size of your feet, not yet anyway..I would say you're just gonna have to accept them, learn to live with them and put them to your advantage,,don't let them be a hindrance in your career.
