If what I am about to tell you does not get rid of your cold I will go out of my way. This is what you do that will work %100 unless you are HIV positive or have a serious immune system problem.
With boiling water make chamomile tea.
Put it in a cup and add a shot of rum or any sort of brandy.
Squeeze a full lemon inside.
Mix this up and drink it slowly in the morning and before bed time.
You will never allow your body to keep the for long.

There is no way to get rid of it faster. It has to run it's course. Antibiotics do NOT help a cold. A cold is caused by a virus and antibiotics are only for bacteria...They do nothing for a cold so never waste your money on antibiotics. So lay around for a day or two and drink some hot tea.

Sqeeze the juice of half a lemon into a cup, add boiling water an a spoonful of honey. Works wonders.
Lemon is anti-septic so fights the virus, and honey smooths the throat (which often comes with a cold)
I have a cold right now too.

I usually will feel a cold coming on a few days before, so I load up on vitamin C and eat a lot of oranges. It helps make the cold go away, or lessen the intensity.

Besides the usual remedies, those zinc lozenges they sell at the drugstore seem to help.
