Most of the time it clears up after the first trimester. For some, it lasts the entire pregnancy. Chances are it'll clear up for you. I feel for you! Good luck!

Everyone is different. Most women get over it by the 12th week others it lasts the whole pregnancy but gets more bearable be the 12th week. Try eating a few saltine crackers with milk or water before you even get out of bed in the morning. It is really good you are drinking a lot, you do not want to get dehydrated. Tired?? Well, that is just normal beginning of pregnancy and that too will wear off at about 12 weeks and then you will get tired again toward the end of the pregnancy. If the sickness is really bothering you and you are concerned for the babies nutritional needs talk to your doctor there are medicines they can give you to help the sickness and help you gain weight. Good luck, and I promise the whole pregnancy will not be this bad, chin- up = )

Wow Honey, you have my sympathy! I know exactly what you mean! I really hate to tell you that the nausea that you are describing can last as long as your pregnancy tho that is unusual. For most women it has stopped by the second trimester.
The fact that you are only 7 weeks pregnant tho means that you are probably going to need some help just to get through this period of time without getting dehydrated. Are you just feeling terribly nauseated or are you actually vomiting? That makes a big difference. If you get to the point where you actually can not keep anything down at all, you need to get in touch with your doctor. Nausea that severe sometimes requires medical intervention. In some cases when you have been vomiting for a period of time and not keeping enough fluid down you will need to be admitted to the hospital so you can be re-hydrated thru an IV.
Even if you are not dehydrated, if you are actually vomiting you should contact your doctor and get her opinion.
There are some simple things you can do if you have not already tried them. I did not mention them right off because it sounds to me like you are past the point where these things are going to help.
Try keeping plain soda crackers by your bed and before you even get out of bed in the morning start out slowly chewing a couple of those. Sip a bit of 7-UP or some other soda, tiny sips. (you will need somebody to bring this to you!) See if it makes your tummy a bit steadier. It is a good idea not to let your stomach get too empty. Try small meals often. Just little bits of things that sound good to you. Even if it is a dish of sherbet or some fruit, a piece of toast, what ever sounds good to you. Just try to keep a little something in your stomach all the time.
Some women find that taking Ginger in capsule form helps them. Ask your doc how many you can take, it is safe but it is still always a good idea to ask.
And, there are medications that can help, your doctor will know what is the best thing for you to do.
I am sorry you are going thru this. I did it for 9 months with my first, was sick on the way to the hospital to have him! As I said tho, that is unusual!
Take care
Love and Blessings

I am currently going through that. Most people say that it'll go away after the first trimester, and a few have said that it could last the entire time. It sounds like to me you have some signs of dehydration. I went to the ER the other night and got rehydrated and was prescribed different anti-nausea medicine, and have felt several times better since then. Just keep in mind that it isn't a permanent problem, you will eventually have this baby!
One thing you have to do is make sure you are drinking water and plenty of it. Eat even though you don't want to (I know it does not sound like a fun thing, but believe me, it helps). And believe it or not, saltines are a lifesaver. I have eaten so many of those things, it keeps the nausea feeling away.
Eat several times a day, and not just when your hungry. Chances are, if you wait til you get hungry, nausea is probably not too far behind. Snack on bland things, like the saltines. Also, protein helps too.
Hope this helps!

I'm six weeks along with my third child and I was really sick for all of my previous two pregnancies. If you can't even get water in or keep it down, go see the doc so you don't get dehydrated. The exhaustion didn't go away for me either. My sisters were sick but recovered just as they were entering their second trimesters.
Some of the exhaustion is from a lack of nutrition and protein. You can try peanut butter and crackers just before bed, (if you brush your teeth right away, it sometimes helps). Then keep the peanut butter jar adn the crackers near the bed so you can eat one or two before getting up. This really helped my sisters. They also took their prenatal vitamin right before bed so that it would hopefully stay down. Just be careful not to drink too much water right before laying down or it will all come back up.
Check with your OB-Gyn, there are a lot of reasons women get sick during pregnancy, the best thing you can do is talk with your provider. If they told you to wait until 12 weeks, call them back or call a different provider and tell them you will be seen right away.
Good luck and I hope it passes soon.

most women stop having nausea after the first trimester. However, I was sick the entire 9 months. Be sure to tell your physician. They can give you medication that is safe to take while you are pregnant. Also, if you are vomiting a lot, be sure to watch for signs of dehydration. Some of these can be noticing you are not peeing very much, your pee is dark, increased heart rate, etc
Congratulations and good luck. It will all be worth it!!!

I am 27 weeks pregnant, and I still haven't stopped puking. Some of us are just unlucky like that.... and it is an all day event too. Zofran kinda worked, so did flat ginger ale. ALSO, kinda icky- but I found that if I puke first thing in the morning (instead of trying to hold it back all day) I feel much better during the day. Go figure.

It all depends. I know women who were never sick at all. With my first pregnancy I was sick for 9 months. My 2nd pregnancy I was sick for 16 weeks, my 3rd pregnancy I was sick for 5 months then ok for 3 months and then sick again at the end.
Please, if you are not getting enough fluids, call your doctor and have your ketones tested. If you are dehydrated, you need to get IV fluids.

I know how you feel and it's horrible I know. I'm almost 40 weeks pregnant and have been sick since week 6. Even though it's really bad now, it will start to get better gradually. Good luck.
