I have water in the air tube which runs from the filter box. This is supposed to suck air from outside, but sometimes has water inside and obviously not sucking any air. I've cleared it a few times with alot of difficulty...blowing through etc. What's the best way to clear it, and will it be a problem for the fish if this keeps happening? I'm a newby tropical fish owner!

Did you check to insure that the hoses are attached sufficiently? Sounds like there is an air leak that is allowing the water to back into the hose. Get some clips to put on to make sure the connections are tight enough. Mine did that until I got the clips but it never caused an issue for my fish.

Just make sure the opening stays above water,if the opening goes under water it will suck water in.
