actually its not the stick gatherer, its the bundle of sticks. In the bible gay people are also refered to as firebrands, the bundle of sticks reference became popular when gays were burned together with witches. I'm told they burned up quite well and thereafter were refered to as *******

One explanation is that gay men were used as kindling wood to start the fire to burn witches. Some people say this isn't so. But how exactly would they know if they weren't alive in the middle ages
Says a lot, doesn't it? Gay men were the lowest of the low, supposedly. Less than witches, even. It's messed up that some heteros think they have the right to use the word. It's hateful.

During the times of the Witch Trials, it was a bundle of wood gathered to build a fire and kill those accused of being a witch. Often during those times if a person was thought to be homosexual they too would be thrown on the fire during the hysteria of the event. The word became synonymous with being of little worth for anything but burning.
THAT is where the term comes from, and exactly why it is so vile.

The word originally meant firewood.
In the United States, it evolved into meaning a homosexual since some people thought that they would burn in hell. This is why the term is considered an epithet.
In the United Kingdom the word evolved into meaning a lit cigarette, and eventually any cigarette.

In Australia they also refer to a homosexual as a Poofta, which i think is just wrong, the wording that is.
But i know gay people who use the word Poofta often, but i certainly dont know where it originated from.

A gay friend and I were actually talking about that earlier. He was joking and said, "Well, it means a bundle of sticks. I get 'sticky' when I'm with a man. He bundles up my 'stick' and all its 'stickiness'." He's an odd man and was kinda drunk.

Well, why is the word "gay" being used for them? It meant happy back in more moral times.

Apparently, "Fag" means a "Cigarrete" in Britain.
Cigarretes are lean and straight like man's penile organ.
Hence, said penile organ is to be inserted in other man's anal openings.
