Taking us to a welfare state with their income redistribution strategies is a given.
I am far more worried about them taking us to an Islamic state.

I, not being a democrat, cannot answer that question.I can say that right now we need more balance in Washington-- we need something badly !! I don't think the democrats are going to take us too far in either direction.
It is not good for our country to have a house, senate, and president of the same party. Why won't our citizens quit voting for The Grand Ole Party and try to put the most qualified people, whichever party in office ??

I imagine it will be much like Clinton or Reagan... Clinton being a democrat and Reagan having a democratic congress...
both times a split congress/president had much greater economic gains than any over the past 6 years...

Well I see you have been reading those Republican Comic books again... You know the ones by Father Rove. Did you know that America owes 43 Trillion dollars when you step away from the Rove way of accounting, that counts the Social Security money as an asset. (That is also how Enron accounted for its assets). That translates into 43 Trillion dollars divided by 300 Million Americans (as of October 7th, 2006.) Final answer! Each and every man woman and child in this country owes $143,000 of that debt. Did you know that America is borrowing 2 Billion Dollars a day from other countries just to stay solvent. Did you know we are spending 8 Billion Dollars a month just on the Iraq war alone. Did you know that every Federal tax dollar collected from individuals west of the Mississippi River is used just to pay the interest on our debt every year. Did you know that this country is buying 40% of everything we buy, from China and that for every 6 ships the Chinese send here, we are only sending them one in return. Therefore, the pile of metal shipping containers from goods from China is stacked so high, miles outside of the port of Los Angeles, that they had to pass a law that it could not be stacked high enough to be seen from downtown Los Angeles. Therefore, they have begun to build houses out of them, as they will never be used to ship things back to China. That China has bought a Trillion Dollars of our debt in the form of U.S. Treasury Bonds. Now that is Prosperity American style! We are 5% of the earth's population and we use 30% of its resources. How long will that be able to continue? No political party taking over the U.S. Congress can solve the mess that the "conservative" fiscal policies of the last 6 years of this Administration have placed us in. (We had a 262 Billion dollar surplus when these fiscal geniuses came into power.) Your children will be paying the price for their fiscal irresponsibility as occupants of a failed ecconomic state. The depression of the 1930's will be child's play compared to what is waiting for us on the other side of the Bush Presidency. Oil dependancy. The Iraq Fiasco. Tax breaks for the richest 1% of Americans. (In 2003, the first year of the Bush/Cheney Tax cuts, Bush got back $44,000 and Cheney got back $308,000 from their income taxes... what did you get back?) These are all efforts to use their power to rape this country and leave it for dead in the short time they were in power, while the Donkeys and Elephants of this country waved American flags and sent their children to fight a war based on lies while only 2 sons of the 535 Congressmen of this country served in Iraq. Remember the Pentagon Papers of the 1971 when Daniel Elsberg risked his career to expose this report the Pentagon did not want you to read about the cause of the Viet Nam Conflict. The summary of this Pentagon report was that five American Presidents had used the Viet Nam War "to Maintain Domestic Political Dominence." They willingly sacraficed 58,219 of America's finest just to hold onto power here in America. It had nothing to do with the Communist threat in Asia, and we have it happening all over again. NO the Dems are no better then the Republicans are, but by god we did show the Republicans that not all Americans are fools all of the time. Not yet anyway!

Whose prosperity? The top one percent of Americans, while the rest of America is suffering because of either stagnant or declining wages. Another misguided attempt to distort the truth. If you are using the Dow as a measuring stick I don't think it applies to most people who cannot afford health insurance, medications or the ability to send their kids to college and on and on. Get real.

it is normal it is only in America that selfish economics is proposed by a single party, which is why the republican response to the new Orleans disaster was worse than Pakistan's response to their earth quake. how ever it was republican stupidity that has involved the USA Ina unjust and stupid war that is America's new Vietnam
why is it the republicans cant remember each new reason bush gives on why he is killing Americans in Iraq, no not terrorism it was to take away non existent weapons that even if he did have them he couldn't and would have used then on the USA
what is teh republican body count up to now in iraq 3000?
