I have a really stressful and often dangerous job with a horrible boss.

No, you cannot get unemployment for that. In order to collect unemployment you have to be able and available to work. Sounds like you are claiming you are unable to work, so you would not be eligible.

Yes If you live in Canada I no you can I have went on stress leave at 26 weeks pregnant I am now 38 weeks and my maternity leave starts the day the baby is born. It is called EI I am not sure what they call it in the United States. My doctor order me to stay home and I filed with his permission and I have been collecting since Aug 14Th we pay into EI off of our pay each week. hope I helped you good luck and try to stay relaxed you deserve to be happy when you are pregnant enjoy.

If your doctor will back you up you would go out on temporary disability, not unemployment. If you quit, then no, you wouldn't be entitled to benefits. Tell your doctor the situation.

Depending where you live- talk with HR department- you can get a letter from your doctor to take a leave of absence ( sabbitical )
