Is it to still the hands of science? Or, is it because if you wind one up it sounds just like any other one, proving cloning already exists and we know how they rage against the things they do in secret.

I am not a radical Republican, but I am still against stem cell research. My reasons are:
A. Most stem cells are harvested from aborted fetuses. I am against abortion, and it concerns me that there is a use for something that, in my opinion should not be happening.
B. Stem cell research may not be the only answer. Even Michael J. Fox's Foundation has backed different research and therapy techniques that do not involve stem cells. I am concerned that if stem cell research goes forward, the other techniques that do not use stem cells will be abandoned.

As for things that are done in secret, if I had a fatal or debilitating disease, I would stand by my ethics and beliefs and reject stem cell therapy if offered as my only way out. I would rather die with my integrity intact, even if it meant a slow and painful death.

Informed Republicans are not against stem cell research. Just against *Embryonic* Stem Cell research. If you knew *anything* at all about the subject you would know that the only positive results has come from adult stem cells... *NOTHING* at all has come from Embryonic stem cells. That alone would justify not funding that research.
I would suggest that you inform yourself on a subject before posting a rant about it.

Since when has the private sector in America been short on research money__----

especially for the funding of potentially revolutionary science that could mean billions of dollars for the patent holder?

I dont consider my self a radical, but I do believe its out there to keep and justify roe vs wade since the same cells were first found in the umbilical cord(which is discarded)then they found them in the livung unborn fetus,I'm not against it at all, just from where they harvest them

Republicans are NOT against stem cell research. They are against using aborted fetuses (not miscarried fetuses) to obtain the cells for the research.

they think it requires or induces the killing of humans in the form of fetuses. they consider this murder of an innocent person.
they are not all very well educated on the processes but take their marching orders from the top and do not look too closely at the facts or the science or the law. Sort of like Al Quaida does

because it's o.k. to brew up 100 embryos for one pregnancy & toss the rest but research is infanticide, whoa! that's stupid.

I never understood that either. I mean, why not kill a fetus when you can save millions of lives?
