is 'slapping' and getting the same funky sound possible on all bass guitars?

well....i plan on buying a bass guitar and i plan on mastering the slapping technique...does it matter what bass guitar i buy?...if so, to what extent?

No, it doesn't matter what kind you buy. But you will find it easier to get the desired tone and response from a bass with single coil pickups and light, roundwound strings.

no but don't get a cheap one i play an ibanez 5 string
